Shawn Hazen is a designer whose work spans branding, editorial, digital design, and an ever-growing collection of personal projects. Over his career, he has shaped visual identities for companies large and small, created editorial systems for books and magazines, and built brands from the ground up. Alongside client work, he explores printmaking, produces zines, designs stickers, and documents other design interests through photo essays and self-published projects. Shawn’s path has included roles at MetaDesign, Chronicle Books, Dwell Magazine, and Apple, as well as running his own studio, Hazen Creative. His work combines precision with personality, driven by a belief in design as both a craft and a way of thinking. He is as committed to design outside the studio as he is within it, often working on self-initiated projects, collecting ephemera and objects, and experimenting with print techniques and materials. He especially enjoys turning ideas into tangible things, like zines or prints.
